ALL things I hear on pretty much a daily basis when I chat to girls about CrossFit, you know what I don’t blame them for thinking it either!
One swift YouTube search of ‘CrossFit Women’ and this is the type of thing you’ll find:

PRETTY FUCKING SCARY!
These girls are ripped, they are epic athletes, they are throwing around some seriously loaded barbells, damn they are professional sportswomen so ummmmm NO I now don’t want to go anywhere near CrossFit it’s CRAZY!!!! Right????
When looking at any Sport it’s important we remember that Social Media gives us access to the ‘best of the best’ – if you looked up videos of Motor Racing would you expect to see your neighbor rallying round the estate in her Mini Cooper or would you expect to see a multi-million dollar Ferrari screeching round a racetrack…get my point?
I’ll try to be a bit clearer, what you’re seeing on Social Media is the best of what CrossFit has to offer, the CrossFit Games showcases the World’s top 80 athletes – 80 – not the hundreds of thousands of other – everyday people – that practise, enjoy, hell they LOVE CrossFit and make progress daily doing things they never thought they could do.
And when I say ‘they’ I mean ‘we’….
The truth about ‘CrossFit Girls’ is that there is not any one body type, not any one fitness level and certainly not any one type of lifestyle that we all have or follow. We are simply girls (and men of course, but this is a female focused blog!) that decided to give it a go and are now reaping all of the amazing benefits that CrossFit has to offer.
“Like what” I hear you say!!!!!!!

You know, most of Us weren’t anything other than curious when we started and we were lucky enough to not let the videos and images of Elite CrossFit athletes put us off but rather inspire us and motivate us and show us what the human body is capable of at the very top of the Sport that we – as non Elite Athletes – still get to enjoy an absolutely HUGE part of! We love what CrossFit has done for Us and we want to share that with you so if your wondering whether to start you now know the answer….
